AOSA President Erick Henderson welcomes more than 500 students to the AOSA General Session at Optometry’s Meeting

With a huge turnout, AOSA’s largest annual gathering of optometry students featured 500 vying for top hours in a trivia competition hosted by HOYA Vision, a lunch and awards from the AOSA recognizing those who make a difference for optometry students nationwide.

“I’m proud that AOSA has established strong support of advocacy, whether through AOA-PAC, where AOSA is among the leading contributors, or through an impressive attendance to the Congressional Advocacy Conference,” said Erick Henderson, AOSA President and SCO student. “The AOSA was very proud to — for the first time — offer $100 travel grants to that meeting. We were thrilled to have more than 300 students attend! It’s only through strong advocacy and working together that we protect our ability to practice what we have learned.”

Dr. Thomas Gosling and Dr. Anne-Marie Lahr of HOYA race to see whose measuring system is fastest.

HOYA’s Mike Elton is honored with a standing ovation at the meeting.
